The Miss Chris is powered by an electric motor that runs on 48 volts DC.  There is a motor controller that varies the amount of voltage available to the motor.  At full speed, the current across the 48 volt buss is approximately 67 amps.  

48 volt motor mounted in the base of the helm console.  The red wires are # 6 gauge.  The bundled gray multi-pair cabling is for my control and audio runs around the vessel that all run below decks.

Motor controller on the inside of the helm turret.  The two red #6 gauge wires come from the 48 volt buss provided by the eight 6 volt batteries located mid ships below the passenger seating area.
