The next day, I headed out to explore the Mississippi River by land and water.

Up North, almost to the border of Missouri, I traveled along much of the shorline.  Here is a river boat on it's way South.  This one was towing about 5 barges just before this was taken.

Further South, I found many homes that looked just like this one on stilts.  The River rises up to the base of these homes routinely.

Back in Memphis, like any good tourist, a ride on the Memphis Queen seemed appropriate.  Downtown Memphis can be seen in the center, with one of two bridges that lead to Arkansas off to the left.
